Today is the day we honor all the men and women who serve and protect our freedoms everyday. For my family it is remembering a good friend who knew all the stories from childhood. It is remembering a father who loved his children dearly. It is remembering the husband who you couldn't wait to see at the end of every day but who never came home from the last mission.
For the thousands of families who remember those they love, I join you today in saying a prayer for those we have lost and a prayer for the safe return of those who still serve.

Amen and Thanks to all the Men and Woman who gave the ultimate sacrafice for our freedom we enjoy today! My prayers to all those men and woman and families - Thanks to all our active service men and woman for all your efforts -
Thank you for the wonderful tribute to veterans. My father served in the Navy in WWII and taught me to be proud of my country, flag and servicemen and women that so willingly sacrifice for our country and freedom. I am so grateful to have a veteran in my life.
Cindy, Those that have given the ultimate sacrifice are always in my thoughts and prayers, as are their families.
I grew up in the Vietnam era in an Air Force family. It is amazing to me the difference in which our military is received today versus the '60s. Sadly, some of that mis-placed antagonism still exists, but thankfully, not all across our country.
Thanks to those who are willing to serve and sacrifice. We should all take inspiration from such selflessness and love for country.
You will always have my undying gratitude and personal support.
Thank you for your post. We send our love, support and appreciation to all the men and women who are serving and also to their families who are sacrificing much. A special Thank you to all the men and women who have served us in years past.
Steve-it is a day to remember and honor all those who serve our country.
Erika-thank you to your father who served in what was a terrible time for all who fought in WWII.
Jo-thanks for stopping by and adding your thoughts and prayers to our brave warriors.
Mike-it has taken the country a long time to realize the sacrifice that our Vietnam veteran's made. Now they are celebrated along with everyone but I am sure there are those who still feel the sting of the 60's and 70's. Rolling Thunder here in DC is always a huge thrill to see.
Lauri-thanks for adding your kudos to the brave men and women who serve.
Cindy
Thank you for reminding us of the importance of Veteran's Day. I have started attending a Bible Study with PWOC at Ft. Meade in MD and am so thankful to be able to give back just a token of my appreciation for the sacrifices that these families make by having their loved ones serve our country. I think of you often, especially on military holidays. I was so sorry to not be able to make the VAR convention, especially since it was in my backyard. I see you went to NAR, so maybe you didn't make it to Baltimore anyways. God bless you and your precious family dear, your sister Kim Jones ; )
Kim-Great to hear from you again. I didn't make it to Baltimore due to business. Hope all is well with you and your family. If you are ever headed around the beltway let me know and we will try and meet up.
I would love that!
