We have had picture perfect weather the last few days in Northern Virginia and it seemed like a good time to escape and enjoy a few moments on the Occoquan River. So we headed over to Madigan's Waterfront Restaurant to have a leisurely lunch on the waterfront deck.
Madigan's in located in the historic Town of Occoquan just off I-95 and Route 123 in Prince William County. It is one of those hidden gems in the area that many people drive right by without even knowing it is there. Madigan's has a prime spot in town right on the Commerce Street and just across from the Prince William County Tourist Center.
You can always expect friendly service from the staff and you won't leave hungry. Seafood is their specialty and it is fresh daily. You won't find crabs when it isn't crab season and yesterday we indulged with a soft shell crab sandwich and of course a crab cake sandwich. Thankfully it is crab season in our area now!
Expect a line out the door if you try to head to the restaurant for Sunday Brunch. The price is an extremely reasonable $14.95 and besides the usual menu there is also a carving station and an omelet bar. Friday and Saturday nights from 9:30 pm to 1 am there is live entertainment with bands covering a wide variety of music including classic rock, contemporary and light jazz.
Don't miss the chance to enjoy a meal on the waterfront at Madigan's in Old Town Occoquan. And if you are out on the river on your boat you can pull right up to the dock!

Hi Cindy ~ First, thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my 'break out of the old' blog. I normally head to the gym 3 or 4 times per week so the walk did me good for change. Wow! love the location where you are in Virginia. I'm reading your blog on Madigan's Waterfront Restaurant. I spent a summer in Norfolk Virginia and it was very memorable.
Karen-thanks for stopping by my post and commenting. This is a great location and there was more great news about our area in a local business journal. A new post will be forthcoming!
Paid $157 for Valentine's Day dinner and what we got was campells soup served luke warm, uncooked vegetables next to a tough steak served as filet mingon next to a potato wrapped in foil, and a small bottle of cheap champagne. If this was not bad enough it was all set to the tune of a real live lynard skynard knock-off band one room away.
Spoke to the manager about the misrepresentation of the menu and atmosphere and the only apology received from the manager was that he was sorry that we did not expect a redneck band to singing next door to our over priced dinner.
If I could give it negative stars I would!
I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at Madigans. I know the owners and will pass on the bad review to them.
