The Light in Their Eyes

Happy CoupleNo matter how many houses you show, no matter how many times you have answered the same question over the years it doesn't matter.  The moment a first time home buyer finds the house that they were looking for and you see the light in their eyes.  WOW what a great feeling that is!

I've gotten to experience that look twice this week and it washes away all of the other wild and weird real estate happenings that have gone on in other deals.

Oh give me more!

Cindy:  I love helping first time home buyers too.  I had one earlier this year that reminded me of Olive in the movie Little Miss Sunshine...the scene when she finds out she's made it to the finals of a beauty pageant.  The pure excitement and joy when they found out their offer on their dream home had been accepted was just like that scream in the movie.  Wish they all could be that wonderful!

Cindy, yes, almost everyone has that same look!  I know that my wife and I had the light in our eyes when we found our condo 5 & 1/2 years ago.

It is even better when you get to hand them the keys after closing and then you see tears in their eyes.  :)  I love it too when I get to see how rewarding our careers can be!

Chris-it is so true. The reactions are terrific.  Hugs, high fives and lots of smiles.  It makes up for slugging through nasty foreclosures.

Pat-thanks it was a tough week in other ways so ending up with two excited first time buyers made up for some other absolutely insane issues.  I think this week could be a book!

Naoma-yes the keys are fun too!  Between the first blush of excitement and closing most of first time buyers go through a wide range of emotions.

That is exactly why I love my niche of first time home buyers. It is a little extra work, but the joy at the end for the buyers and myself...Nothing compares!

Todd-I wrote an offer yesterday for one of my first time buyers.  The excitement was so refreshing.  I seem to be working with one extreme or the other recently.  First time buyers and foreclosure buyers.  My head is spinning but it makes real estate interesting.
