Consider The Tragedy Before You Repeat The Conspiracy Theories

I'm not sure where this originated but there is a powerful message here.  I've read some Facebook and blog posts suggesting a conspiracy since many of the men who lost their lives were part of the Seal Team 6 involved in Bin Laden's death.  Some have suggested it was to silence them from telling the truth.  It's so easy to forget the real loss of what happened on this week.

30 lost
30 unwanted visits
30 doors receive that dreaded knock
30 families with shattered hearts
30 pairs of boots lined up with rifles and dog tags and helmets
30 comrades remembered and grieved for
30 funeral services
30 names on newly made grave markers,
30 empty places at the table
30 souls who gave all, whose lives leave a void
So let's take 31 seconds to re-post this and pause to reflect on such a sacrifice as 31 gone forever.

Special operation forces protect us everyday.  They don't do it for the recognition from any of us but they do deserve our respect when tragedy strikes.  If you've ever had that knock on your door you know exactly how it instantly changes your life.  Don't disrespect their families with rumors and innuendos.

Cindy - that was very thoughtful to write this. We should always put everything into perspective and many that are talking I am sure don't have all the facts. the energy should be put into sending the families prayers as they are the ones who are suffering now.

Cindy,   We owe them our deepest gratitude and deepest prayers.  Their passing is a loss for their wives, mothers, fathers, daugthers, sons, nieces, nephews, grandparents and all the lives of those that call them friend and loved one.  They are all owed our prayers and gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice for us, and our country.

Well said.  I too have read some of the theories that this was a malicious act by our own government.  Really?  Just as Kathleen said these men had families, let's think of them first and foremost.

Cindy

The lost to the families is far reaching and it a tragedy  for the entire country. The word coming out of Washington on this tragedy has been silence. My prayers are with the families.

Good luck and success.

Cindy - I know you that you had that knock on the door and this is heartbreaking beyond comprehension.  Thank you for reminding us all to respect these families.

Cindy - We can never forget that freedom isn't truly free. This tragedy is an example.

Hi Cindy, that is right. We can't forget their families. Military men and women do not do it for the recognition. It's a calling. They are heroes.

Cindy~ Sometimes the stuff on FaceBook is just pure gossip fodder. Thanks for the post.

Seeking the Truth is not Disrespectful.

These brave men are dead, and a full investigation and open discussion regarding what caused their deaths is appropriate.

Cindy, I have had to knock on those doors myself as a former police officer. I will never, ever, forget what a responsibility, what an incredibly humbling an experience it was. I felt for each family member that I had to tell about their loved one.

I am also an Air Force brat and SO appreciative of our troops and their families for what they go through. I am very sorry that we lost these brave Americans (and every other military man or woman in any war, dispute, skirmish or related illness thereafter) and that their families must endure the grief in a very public fashion.

Thank you for standing up and defending the families against any rumors and innuendos.

Linda-I've lived in the shoes of these families and know that the days ahead are tough.  Having to deal with rumors on how this came to happen only adds to the tragedy.

Kathleen-thank you for your words of appreciation to our troops and their families.

Pat-It is so sad that as a country we have become cynical enough to believe that we would shoot down our own helicopter & suggest the entire Bin Laden incident was a hoax.  Moon walk anyone?

Posted by Cindy Jones, Pentagon, Fort Belvoir & Quantico Real Estate News (Integrity Real Estate Group) almost 7 years ago

Lou-I know when missions go wrong there are days, weeks, months and years of investigation that go on.  Silence out of Washington doesn't bother me at this point.

Posted by Cindy Jones, Pentagon, Fort Belvoir & Quantico Real Estate News (Integrity Real Estate Group) almost 7 years ago

Louise-it is amazing to me that American's would jump on this tragedy and begin to raise doubts about the reasons why.  We can only imagine all of those families asking those same questions but for very different reasons.

Jackie-thank you for your comment.  We lose good men and women everyday who are working to keep our country free.

Posted by Cindy Jones, Pentagon, Fort Belvoir & Quantico Real Estate News (Integrity Real Estate Group) almost 7 years ago

Liz-it is and it grows like wildfire fueled by sensationalist newscaster who would rather think consipracy versus tragic accident.

Posted by Cindy Jones, Pentagon, Fort Belvoir & Quantico Real Estate News (Integrity Real Estate Group) almost 7 years ago

Fred-I agree that a full investigation of the events that lead to this tragedy is important.  As "civilians" we won't know the extent of those investigations for a long time.  In the meantime we need to respect the families left behind.

Posted by Cindy Jones, Pentagon, Fort Belvoir & Quantico Real Estate News (Integrity Real Estate Group) almost 7 years ago

Jacque & Larry-I take these types of events personally as I've had that knock on the door and then dealt with the rumors of the mission afterwards.  It is painful and leaves a lifelong impression on everyone involved.

Amen to that Cindy.  Military families are grieving right now and these Seals dedicated their lives to keeping America safe.  Such a great loss.

Cindy - great post! The Seals and ALL of our men and women on the front lines do so much to secure our freedom! It is something NOT to be taken lightly!

While I may disagree MOST of the time with the decisions the politicians make, those in uniform make such great sacrifices for ALL of us! That is something we need to remember!

Cindy,

Loss is loss and it pains me to know that there are rumors flying. I'm glad I didn't see or read about them on FACEBOOK or the news - I'm certainly not going to research it either.

These families are grieving and they deserve our deepest respect. Their children will need to grow up and those that are young, will be reading about this in history books. It's sad that people are so insensitive and could start nasty rumors.

I pray for the families and respect all Military personnel, including their families. This is a great loss for our country too.

Cindy, this is a reminder we all need. Did you see the CNN report about the ten year old boy, Braydon Nichols, who lost his dad, Bryan Nichols, in Afghanistan and wondered why his photo was not shown? The child posted his dad's photo on FB just so others would know his dad who went down in a Chinook. Please read this story:  http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/08/11/braydon.nichols.response/index.html
