Holiday Mail For Heroes: Send a Card to A Service Member

Holiday Mail for Heros.  During the holiday season it is easy to get caught up in shopping for our family and friends.  It's also a time to lend a hand and spread cheer for our US Troops.  The deadline for the Holiday Mail for Hero's will be here before you know it.

Take a minute to add a service member to your Christmas card list.

Please note correct zip code should be 20791-5456.

The turkey is history and Black Friday is well underway. There are many members of the Armed Forces who are unable to participate in the preparations for the holidays, due to their military service. In fact, many of them will be away from family, friends and loved ones this Christmas season.

If you have a few extra minutes, why not write a card to a service person or veteran?  Let them knowchristmas card that we understand, and are grateful for, all that they have scarified for our country.

The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are teaming up to collect cards to be distributed around the world as part of their, Holiday Mail For Heroes program. The deadline of December 10 is quickly approaching.

Pull out your leftover cards from last season, or pick up some new ones while out shopping,  and write out a couple for these committed men and women.

Once completed, mail them to Holiday Mail for Heroes, P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456.

You will bring a smile to a military service person and will feel good about thanking them for their service.

Please re-blog this so that as many cards as possible will reach our service people this holiday season.

Cindy, thank you for the blog post. My son and I do this every year. I think it's so important to remember the ones that sacrifice their lives to save ours everyday.

Cindy et al, I was just working on my cards and noticed that the zip code was incorrectly typed. The correct zip code is: 20791-5456.

Sorry if this causes any trouble.

Great one to reblog, Cindy.  I think I may have to spread the word on my outside blog to my readers today.

Since my Grandson just went into the Air Force, I'll add him.  He is greatly missed already and this is his first holiday without the family.

Cindy - this is indeed a great one to reblog; when I was teaching history I used to have the students write letters all the time.
