A Simple Thank-You It's Better Than A Commission Check

Lake Ridge Sellers Say Thank-You

It is a simple card but at a time when our jobs as Realtors® are tough a little thank-you goes a long way.

Sarah and Joe owned a nice end level townhouse in the Lake Ridge neighborhood in Woodbridge VA.  When Sarah called Joe was deployed in Afghanistan and when he returned they had PCS orders sending them out of the area.  As with many young families in Lake Ridge they had purchased their townhouse just before the market dropped and they were underwater on their mortgage.

Fortunately after sitting down with Sarah we realized they were eligible for the Department of Defense Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP) and we could sell their home without a short sale.  With a short to do list, Sarah and her family pitched in and got the home ready for market.  Within days we had multiple offers on their home.

There were a few bumps along the way all of which were worked out with cooperation of the buyer's agent and the settlement company.  All the pieces fell in place just in time for Sarah to pack up the house and meet Joe at their new duty station on his return.  Their thank-you meant more than the commission check.  It meant I'd been able to help a military family make a difficult move and start their next tour of duty without the worry of what to do with their Lake Ridge home.

If you like in the Lake Ridge VA area or anywhere in Woodbridge or Northern Virginia give me a call at 703-346-2213 to discuss your options for selling your home.  With multiple Lake Ridge VA listings SOLD in 2010 let my experience work for you.  No hassle, no pressure just straight talk about whether now is the right time for you to sell your home.

It is always nice to hear a thank you. I was told a long time ago, as a Realtor , if you do your job well, the customer will never know how much you went through behind the scenes to get their deal done without them having to worry. A thank you makes it all worth while

Well done!  A simple "thank you" goes a long way.... it makes all the difference knowing that you are appreciated for a job well done.  Not saying its "better" than a commission cheque, but is right up there along side it!

Cindy, while I generally agree with you on this one, I do have to ask you, how many pairs of shoes can a thank you note buy?  LOL

Seriously, great job and that extra effort of recognition is really a wonderful feeling

Thank you's are wonderful but if there's no commission check you may be out of business before long and then you wouldn't be able to do those wonderful sales for people that need you.. so.. I don't know if I'd say better, BUT without them the commission does not mean as much either..

Nicely done.. both the sale and the blog.

I didn't read the other comments, but I can only imagine that I have a few people in agreement with me.  While I LOVE a nice thank you card, it doesn't even come close to being as good as a commission check.  Otherwise, I think we would all just write up our listing agreements as 2.5-3.0% for buyer's agent, and just a thank you card for us...LOL.  Wouldn't be in business long that way.  That being said...yes, a thank you card sure does make you smile, because clients rarely go that extra step to tell us thank you.  You obviously provided some exemplary customer service...well done!
