Today thousands upon thousands of motorcyclists roared into DC for the annual Rolling Thunder Memorial Day event and everyone cheered (even the parents who used to cringe). For anyone who hasn't seen the spectacle of Rolling Thunder it can be quite deafening but at the same time you know that all of the men and women participating in the event want you to know:
We will not forget those who have lost their lives in the service of their country.
We will not forget those whose fates are still unknown.
We will not forget that there is a cost to our freedom and we will honor those who have served and who continue to serve to keep us free.

Cindy - I watched a report on the news this morning about the Rolling Thunder event. It is one of the most awesome things I've ever seen and such a wonderful way of honoring our fallen heroes. It is an event I would love to someday see in person.
It is a very memorable experience to watch and hear and a fantastic way to honor ALL our heroes both in memory and alive.
Cindy, I can only imagine how amazing this is to watch. I would love to experience this.
Cindy,
Odds are good that biker is now a CPA or lawyer - but more importantly, someone who doesn't forget!
It sounds like it was an amazing event.
Sounds like a great idea to me. Must be a tremendous thing to see...and for a great purpose.
Cindy, I watched them roll in on the evening news yesterday. Quite a show and I loved the sound of them riding in together!
Donna-it is deafening to hear them leaving the Pentagon and heading across the Memorial Bridge but something if you have a chance to see once you should.
Valerie-it is an awesome sight.
Jo-it is fun to watch and two of my recent clients rode in the event this year. My goal is to now "bum" a ride next year.
Irene-you are so correct. Not a single one of the Harley riders I've run into in the last few years match the image of "easier rider" anymore.
Donna-if you can imagine almost 500,000 people all with one goal. To remember our troops!
Jim-I'm sure during your time in DC you took in a number of Memorial Day events. As you know they are always moving.
Connie-it is inspiring to realize that the riders come from all across the country, meet in the Pentagon parking lot and then ride as one to honor our troops.
